Samuel Eto'o refuse de faire 7 ans à la fecafoot,mais plutôt 4.‹‹ Le 11 décembre 2021, vous m’avez confié les rênes de notre football pour un mandat de 4 ans. Au cours de notre Assemblée générale l’an dernier à Douala, certains d’entre vous ont émis le vœu de voir ce mandat passer de 4 à 7 ans. Cette proposition a été unanimement adoptée par l’Assemblée générale. Je vous remercie encore pour cette marque de confiance et pour cette reconnaissance du travail abattu en très peu de temps. Vous l’avez fait en toute légitimité en tant qu’ Assemblée souveraine. Cependant, chers collègues, tout travail de refondation doit tenir compte de principes et de valeurs qu’il est bon de respecter. L’un de ces principes commande de ne pas changer la règle du jeu au cours du match. C’est pourquoi je vous prie de bien vouloir ramener à 4 ans la durée de notre mandat. ›› a laissé dire le président de l'actuel exécutif fédéral.
